“Men are superior to women.” So says the Koran in the book of SURAH 2:228.
“A man may punish his wife by beating her.” So says the Koran in the book of SURAH 4:34.
“Resisting Islam is punishable by death.” So says the Koran in the book of SURAH 5:33.
We are honored to have the very knowledgeable Barbara Isaacs with us this month, who is traveling all over Texas to sound the alarm and answer the question: “WHY is the influence of Islam rising in Texas?” Barbara founded Defending Our Republic, www.defendingourrepublic.com in 2023 due to concerns about the Islamic expansion in Texas. Barbara speaks to all topics of Islam, i.e. Sharia Law, wearing hijabs, and more! She testified most recently before the Collin County Commissioners Court about the rise of Islamic influence in that county, and she is going to be with DPRW on March 26 at 6:30 PM. She will have handouts AND take questions! Please bring all your friends, relatives [Yes! Men are welcome!!], co-workers, and more!
The meeting venue is “The Beeman”, soon to be known as the “Hotel Mockingbird”. (It has new owners!!) It is located at 6070 N. Central Expwy., Dallas (close to SMU). Free parking is available south of the meeting location (in the shadow of the “Premier Place”) and in the parking building due east of our meeting venue.
All DPRW meetings are dinner meetings. Reservations are required. This month’s reservation deadline is noon on March 21, and reservations are made by sending an email with your name to leebaldwin@dfwatty.com. The dinner buffet cost is $40, and the cost can be paid on the night of the meeting only in cash or by check made out to “DPRW”. (We are working with our bank to institute possible credit card options.) If you make a reservation but do not attend the meeting, you will be billed $40 unless you notify us of the name of a person you are sending in your place.
AMERICA “READS THE BIBLE” KICKOFF CAMPAIGN ON MARCH 19
Bunni Pounds, the former 1st Assistant to Republican Congressman Jeb Hensarling [from Mesquite] created the organization called “Christians Engaged” when Mr. Hensarling retired. Christians Engaged is a group of conservatives that seeks to educate the populace on all aspects of conservative causes and candidates, and it holds community conferences to engage all citizens.
Christians Engaged is now kicking off America Reads the Bible, a national event in Washington, D.C. to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding. Dallas is joining in this celebration on March 19 from 6-7 PM at the Museum of Biblical Art—located at 7500 Park Lane [just west of North Park Mall]. Admission is FREE and complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be served from 5:30-6 PM. Parking is also FREE. However, you MUST register in advance by going to the following LINK: https://conta.cc/4kL7GUI. Hope to see YOU there!!
VOLUNTEER CAMPAIGN HOURS COLLECTION:
Every Republican Women’s group is encouraged by TFRW to volunteer: a] To help conservative candidates get elected, and b] To help conservative causes get passed into law. All those Volunteer Hours are valuable to each club because we send in the total number of group volunteer hours to TFRW each month, and TFRW honors ONE CLUB each year as having the most Volunteer Hours collected. Those hours are “collected” [reported to our VP of Campaigns—Threcia Walls] at each meeting. She’s designed a form (available soon) for each of us to fill out and turn in to her at each meeting. Big News-TFRW has “widened” the collection rules to now include “travel time”, i.e. the amount of time for going to, and coming from, all political events [yard-sign building, envelope stuffing, telephone canvassing, lobbying the Legislature for a new bill, etc.]—for both drivers and riders in motor vehicles. Questions? Bring them to our March meeting!! See YOU there!!
DAY TRIP ANYONE?!?!
Professional Women—like all people—need a BREAK once in a while, don’t ya know?!? Well, in Texas, there is NOTHING better than the beautiful Bluebonnet Festival to draw us all in!! Please mark April 18 on your calendars, Ladies!! We are going to do a “Day Trip” [we’ll wagon-train it like our ancestors! WINK!!] and follow the gorgeous Bluebonnet Trails around Ennis by car. We are meeting at the Post Office parking lot on the corner of Ferguson Rd. and Lakeland Drive in east Dallas at 9 AM. “Volunteer” drivers are needed [Lee Baldwin will be one; other volunteers—please text or call Lee on 214/499-4097 to let her know that you are willing to drive. Thank you!!] Passengers are encouraged to give drivers $5 apiece to help pay for gasoline. We took 3 cars full [14 women!] back in 2019 and had the MOST fabulous day!! We took single and group pictures, and we ate at the wonderful Bluebonnet Cafe. [Home cooking at a VERY reasonable price!!] Be sure to bring your camera AND wear comfortable walking shoes. Be prepared to be AWED by God’s beautiful creation!!
